While it is impossible to predict or prevent a layoff, here are a few quick but useful tips of what to do if it does happen to you.

1. Update Your Resume & LinkedIn

Take this time to polish your resume, including highlighting your skills and accomplishments. Give your LinkedIn/other networking platforms a ‘refresh’ with focus on your expertise and experience.

2. Reach Out To Employment Professionals

Reach out to employment professionals who understand the job market, have established networks of companies they work with and are positioned to provide you with the support you need.

3. Reach Out To Your Network

A former Manager or colleagues, mentors, family members and friends. Share your situation, they can be a valuable additional resource.

4. Keep Learning

Continuous learning will help you to stay relevant, strengthen your skill set, as well as allow you to further grow and thrive!

5. Take Time To Reflect And Practice Self-Care

Stay calm and remember that this is only a temporary setback and you will have opportunities to bounce back. Embrace this chance to reflect and take care of your mental well-being!
